Prapples to Flashpoint in 5 Seconds or Less

These days, I'm really just aiming for one post a month.  That way I will (hopefully) never fail!

Jared

I haz discovered a new favorite fruit.  They are called Asian pears, apple pears (or maybe it's pear apples...) Japanese pears, Chinese pears and a plethora of things in between, but I call them Prapples.  They are a combo of the best part of the two fruits.  They are crispy like apples, but have the taste of pear.

Cook's Thesaurus
They are AMAZING in salad, with some fab apple cider vinegar!  True story!!  (The gif below does NOT reveal my true feelings about prapples - I simply found it while browsing da Google, cracked up, and felt compelled to share it with all you all.  Prapples are GOOD!  :-)

I have been very busy making things these day.  It's LOVELY making things.

Some of the "new" stuff in my shoppe.  It's nice having new stuff.  For a long time it was sort of just languishing with old stuff, but I have been a bit craftier and doubled my inventory.  HooRAH! :-)

Since I apparently cannot live my life without delving into new (for me) TV shows, I would like to introduce you, yet again, to a new TV show!

Flashpoint

This one is really good.  It's about a police team, Team One of the SRU (Strategic Response Unit) who tends to answer the "hot calls" of a crime gone wrong or going wrong.

Greg Parker

First, there's Sergeant Greg Parker.  He's the "Boss" and the team's lead negotiator.  During a situation he's the one to make contact and try to "talk" the subject down so they can resolve the situation peacefully and non-lethally.

Ed Lane

Then there's Ed Lane.  He's the team leader, tactical operator and a crack sniper.  He is often the person in charge of taking down the subject if the situation escalates and there is no other option other than lethal.

Spike

Michelangelo "Spike" Scarlatti is demolitions and tactical.  He is often to be found in the van doing fabulous things with a computer, figuring out info on both subjects and victims for the Team to use to de-escalate a subject.

Wordy

Kevin "Wordy" Wordsworth specializes in entry and hand-to-hand.  He is the "family man" on the show and an overall sweetheart.

Sam

Sam Braddock is ex-military.  He tends to take over as team leader and tactical whenever Ed can't, and is usually lead sniper.

Jules

Julianna "Jules" Callaghan is the team's only female member, and she is awesome sauce.  She tends to be the one to do negotiating if Greg can't, and she is also often called upon to be the sniper.

Lew

Lewis "Lou" Young is the less lethal weapons specialist on Team One, often backing up Spike when it comes to bombs and research.

This show is crazy, because not only is it a GREAT show, but all the team members are like a family.  They have each others' backs all the time, and their one goal is to "keep the peace."  It also does backstory on the members, so you grow fonder and fonder of them as the seasons go.  I tend to shed a lot of tears at the end of each episode.  They do a great job of finishing up the story and having this song playing in the background that totally depicts the whole episode perfectly.

At the moment I've just started Season Four, and I have a TERRIBLE feeling about one of my favourite members on the team.  I'm not going to say anything, in case I end up being right, and if I am I'll probably cry even harder.  :-)

Okay, my life is boring.  I'll leave you and love you and post again sometime in December.  Probably just in time for Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Advent, Happy St. Nicholas Day in case I don't pop on long enough to commemorate those holidays with their own special posts.

God bless!!

Habemus Papam! And smaller things of note.

I noticed, while pinning my newest Etsy item to Pinterest, that we now know who our new Pope is! Pope Francis I. May God shower blessings down on him. :)

Now here are the pictures I promised to post last week.

I haz created a NEW item for my Etsy Shop! Since I like to have a little of something of everything in there, (and since my two Phantom of the Opera items sold so fast) I present to you...

THIS! THIS THIS THIS!!

TA DA!!!

A very lovely (if I do say so myself) Phantom of the Opera necklace. I glazed it quite heavily to give it a nice, smooth finish, and the glaze brought out the subtle tints of gold I'd added into the stem. It made it look almost metallic. Really cool!

Also, since I said I'd show these to you as well, here are the cute wee boxes I've made for my items. First, here's a shot of a largish box made to fit a "Ladybug Bloom" inside it, and a blue box for my Doctor Who Jewelry Box. (You can see the picture of the item on the side. Isn't that COOL?!)

Then a couple shots of the Ladybug Bloom box. Isn't it purty? It's nice and big and flat, just the right custom-made design for my pretty blooms. :)

Last, ALL the boxes! Right now I've only got six done, because I ran out of ink. Yes, my friends. Ink. The magenta ink, specifically. I mean, WHAT?! Oh well. I was ready for a break, anyhoozle. Those things are tedious. Seriously, I have to size the box. Then, I have to decide what kind of a design I want to fill it with. Then I have to make sure I have my logo on top, and an item picture on the side or the bottom, wherever it fits. Then I print it out, cut it out, fold, glue, and package. It takes awhile. But, the result is worth it! Don't you think?

Anyway, that's really all I have to share today. I must away and do some writing now.

Oh yes, and scan something into my computer for my sister. I promised, forgotted, promised again like ten minutes ago, and nearly forgotted again! She waved it in my face. Like this: *wavewavewave* So I shall do that now. Before I forget thrice.

Habemus Papam!! Here's praying that Pope Francis I is a strong, holy, and traditional Pope. God bless him!

Right ho! God bless, and have a lovely Wednesday!

Tags, Blog Awards, and Phantom of the Opera

Since I live with my sisters, when I get tagged I don't always get notified in my blog. However, two of my sisters said they tagged me for the Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award, and since I liked Amanda's questions better, I did her tag. (Also, since I've been tagged for this award before, I made up my own new one. Nominees are going to get the World Of Dreamers Blog Award :)

First, before we get onto the whole question thingie, there is a new item in my Etsy Shoppe, Cat In The Corner. Look. Isn't it purty?

I made that mask all by myself! It's a loverly Phantom of the Opera trinket box. I had to actually make an entire face, then cut out the mask part that I wanted to keep. It was a bit of an ordeal, but there you go. It looks rather nice. I apologize for the hand shot. For some reason, all my pictures kept rotating, so none of them were upright. What's with that?!

So, that's what's new in the Shoppe. :)

Now, for the tagging thing.

Rules
*Acknowledge the person who passed the award to you and provide their link. (Thank you, Panda! And Teresa, but Panda's questions are the ones I'm answering.)
*Include the award logo on your blog. (I'm going to post the one I made, and that's the one I'm giving away to people I tag.)
*Answer the ten questions posted below. (Okay!)
*Make up your own ten questions for the next people. (Mwahahaha. However, I'm only going to do six, and then my "nominees" can come up with four random facts.)
*Nominate blogs and link those you have especially enjoyed reading. The number you can select is up to you. (Sounds good!)
*Notify each individual that you have nominated them. (Will do!)

Here's the Award:

And now here are Amanda's questions:

1.) Rain or Snow?
Rain. Definitely, rain. I do not LIKE snow. I have tried. I like the snow right before Christmas. After that, please. Go away.

2.) If your friend asked you to go bungee jumping with them, would you?
After a bit of dithering and indecision, probably yes.

3.) If you were a criminal, what sort of criminal would you be the most likey to be? (Thief? Con-man?)
Okay. Hmmm. Let me think. Probably thief. I'd like to be a thief. All in black, jumping off buildings, breaking sleekly into buildings, feeling very Parker-ish...

4.) Airplane or train?
Oooh, tricksy! I love both of these. However, probably train, because the security isn't so insane to get through.

Coolest train EVER!!

5.) Have you ever broken a limb?
No. I will admit, I'm interested to know what it feels like to break a rib, but that's only because I'm a writer. I'm interested in a purely intellectual way. *Winkety winkety*

6.) Where you a tomboy or more of a girly-girl?
Um. I think I was in-between. I liked doing dangerous things, but I also was acutely aware of how I presented to people. I liked knowing I could climb the fence like a thief, or burrow beneath it like an escaping prisoner, but I also liked to look NICE when I was out in public.

7.) If you had to pick your weapon of choice, would it be a sword, bow and arrows, or daggers?
I LURVE bow and arrows, but I'd love to try out the double-dagger fighting technique. Very Lee Christmas.

8.) Do you prefer long hair or short?
Long. You can do so much more with long hair.

9.) Do you have a historical hero? If so, who? If not, why NOT!!??
How far back in history are we going? I'm quite fond of William Wallace, which could be because of the trip I took to Scotland in April of 2011. I also quite love Jimmy James.

10.) What's your favorite time-frame in history?
I know the NOW is more convenient, but I have a fascination with the medieval time frame. I love that. Don't know why. It's probably the swords. :)

Okay, now for those of you I tag, you are the recipients of the World of Dreamers Blog Award. Here are your SIX questions!!!

1.) What sort of a book would you describe yourself to be? (i.e., are you a fantasy, historical fiction, dystopian, etc?)
2.) What would be likelier to do? Order a coffee with a British accent, or pretend to be deaf when someone talks to you?
3.) A total stranger comes up to you. Do you (a.) react instantly and punch him in the face before he has a chance to introduce himself? (b.) step back and wait to see if he is hostile before punching? or (c.) go all coward and run away, screaming like a banshee?
4.) Would you prefer to be sick with the stomach 'flu or a shockingly bad case of strep throat?
5.) If YOU could be a superhero, what type would you like to be?
6.) Someone yells "Obey!" What's the first thing you think of?

Now you get to mention four random facts about yourself! Please, make them VERY random. Peculiar is good. :D

For this Award, I'm tagging:
Maria
Kellie
Pure Grace
Miss Jack Lewis
And, if they want to do another Tag:
Rachel
Isabella
Teresa

New Etsy Items!! aaaaand a Josh CD. :)

I have added three more items to my Etsy Shoppe.

There's a little something for everyone there.

First, meet Braddock the Turtle. (His name was inspired by my sister, who reminded me about James J. Braddock, the boxer in Cinderella Man, who told his children he hoped to win the TITLE, and they misheard and thought he said TURTLE.) Braddock is a cute li'l guy who just wants to steal his way into your heart, spectacles and all!

Then, for all you Doctor Who fans out there (and I KNOW you're out there... I've seen your blogs, remember?!) there is this super duper little box that gives a nod to Doctors Nine, Ten, and Eleven. This box features a banana (Doctor Nine), a converse sneaker (Doctor Ten), and a fez (Doctor Eleven). This one is most definitely COOL!

Last, if you're that flowery kind of person, I have a new Ladybug Bloom for sale. This one is certainly purty, and has an extra layer of petals, which was a bold and daring move on my part! But I think it's lovely, with that blue, yellow, and red all nestled together. And the ladybug on the blue petal makes it all the more better, don't you think?

So, that's what's new in my shoppe! On other news, I got THIS in the mail today!

Since I am a member of that illustrious fan club, Friends Of Josh Groban (FoJG) I pre-ordered this CD, and it came TODAY!!! I am so excited. I love it already. :) There are a couple songs on there that are to DIE for. "Brave" and "I Believe (when I fall in love, it will be forever)" are my fav'rites, so far.

I think that's all the news from me today. Until next time, I shall bid youse all farewell!

God bless, everyone. (Look, no Doctor Who gifs this time. Can you believe it?! Yeah, me neither. Next time...;-)

Six-Sentence Saturday 02/02/2013

It is still trippy for me to write 2013 in my dates. I'm not quite over 2012 yet, so I get all confoosled so easily.

However, off to my six sentences!

1.) Good news! I sold my very first Etsy item! That was a thrillsville, Kodak moment. :)

2.) I'm on a Phantom of the Opera kick. I just watched the 25th Anniversary edition, and now I'm listening to the Sarah Brightman/Michael Crawford edition.

3.) Why don't the Phantoms ever laugh like Michael Crawford?

4.) I freakin' LOVE Doctor Eleven! (You might be able to tell that from this post, seeing how many Doctor Eleven gifs I've been posting. :)

5.) I'm also rather fond of Matt Smith himself.

6.) If you liked the tutorials I've done in the past, good news! I have an eBook out through HowExpert on How to Draw Fantasy Art. Take a look here!

That's all for now. Until next time, I shall drink a glass of wine, and bid you adieu!

(Unlike the Doctor, I happen to love a glass of wine now and then. :)

Ta, then, folks! Talk to youse all later. Until Later, have a fabulous day, weekend, and then week. God bless!
