Hello! It's that time of week again, so here you go:
1. I'm having a minor obsession with the TV show Monk right now.
2. I cannot walk past a penny on the road without picking it up.
3. I can't WAIT to go on vacation!
4. I'm in the middle of a three-way Letter Game with my older brother and younger sister, and the story has suddenly turned dark. LOL
5. I don't much care for ear buds.
6. What does a Glede-crafter look like?
I guess the last sentence is kind of a cheating one, but that's truly the thing on my mind right now.
God bless and good night. Hope your Lent is going well.

Blog Tag!
Tag, I'm it!
I was tagged by Kelly Hashway in a game of Blog Tag! It's quite fun. The rules are:
1. You must post the rules in a new blog post.
2. Answer the questions and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them.
1. Treskie over at Occasional Randomness

Kelly's Questions:
If you could live in a fictional world, where would that be?
Middle-earth, either in Rivendell or Hobbiton.
Do you read in noisy or quiet places?
I'm from a big family, so noisy or quiet doesn't matter. Just as long as the book is good, I'M good!
What was the first book you ever read?
Um... the first one that actually springs to mind is Ramona the Pest.
If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Gosh! Just ONE?!?! Probably The Lives of Christopher Chant.
Favourite author?
These questions are HARD! However, if I can only choose one, then it would be Diana Wynne Jones.
Do reviews influence your choice of reads?
Depends on how much I trust the reviewer. Generally, it doesn't influence me much.

Fiction or Non fiction?
Fiction for sure!
Have you ever met your favourite author?
I met ONE of my favourite authors... Brian Jacques actually came to Tahoe, and he signed my copy of Pearls of Lutra.
Audio books or Paperbacks?
Paperback... well, preferably hardback, but definitely paperback over audio.
Classic or Modern Novels?
Sorry, both!
Book Groups or Solitary Reading?
I like to read all by myself. :)

Word of the Day
Today's word is a great word for writers. As writers we tend to get wordy. There are so many great words to choose from, why not use them all? We've learned, time and again, to use only one solid, concrete word instead of hundreds of "it was like" words. It's awfully hard, but it definitely makes a manuscript flow better.
So, today's word:
ad rem ad REM \ adverb, adjective;
1. Without digressing; in a straightforward manner. (adjective)
2. Relevant; pertinent.
Ad rem is a useful Latin phrase that literally means "at thing" from the roots ad and rēs.

2. Relevant; pertinent.
"Jacki found it hard to write ad rem when there were so many words to choose from."
Just for fun, take the Word Dynamo quiz... how many words do you REALLY know?
