30 Day Song Challenge - Day 4

Today's challenge is to post a Song That Makes Me Sad.

Truth be told, there are many, many songs that make me sad. For the benefit of my readers, I'm going to share a Non-Josh song (gasp!) and hopefully a song few people have ever heard.

PETER KAGAN AND THE WIND, as sung by Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy.

This song makes me cry all the time. I can't listen to it very often, because I get so choked up. It's a very long song, but it is beautiful. It's more of a ballad. You can actually read the entire thing HERE as you listen, in case their accents get a little too hard for you to understand. It's a beautiful song.

I love the incredible story of self-sacrifice. I love how beautiful Kagan's wife is, and how much she loves him. The ending always, always, always makes me cry.

Kagan, Kagan, Kagan,
Lay ye down to sleep.
For I do come to comfort thee
All and thy dear body keep.

All righty, hope you enjoyed that! Until Tomorrow!!

God bless. :)

30 Day Song Challenge - Day 3

This post is a two-in-one!

First, for my challenge, I must post A Song That Makes You (meaning me) Happy.

Second, I'm doing Bella's tag. It is a good tag, with fun buttons. I want the Eleventh Doctor's button. So, I'm doing this giveaway/tag thingie.

First, my challenge!

A song that makes me happy all over, from the tips of my not-so-pointy ears to my not-yet-painted-red toenails, is O HOLY NIGHT, as sung by...

You guessed it.

JOSH GROBAN!!!

Seriously, his version puts a big happy smile on my face, every single time.

And now!

Thirty Day Song Challenge - Day 2

Today is the feast of the Guardian Angels. I thought I'd let you all know that, so you could offer up a little thank you to your friendly angel.

Wikipedia
Today's Challenge Number 2 is to post my LEAST favourite song. Like my favourite song, this is kind of hard, because there are a lot of songs I can't stand, and wish hadn't been written.

Anything by Bob Dylan, for example.

Nope, I've got it. THIS has to be the one song I hate with all my heart. It gives me a feeling like nails on a chalkboard. It makes me go "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeee!!!!" like a banshee. Don't get me wrong. She actually has a nice voice, and some of those high notes are done quite well. For the most part, though, she hits them, and I feel like she's scraping my soul raw. And the lyrics are a mixture of weird and pretty. And the part from 4:34 on is AWFUL. She sounds like the veritable voice wailing the wilderness. And her vibrato... *Shudder*

Without further ado, I present WOODSTOCK!! (I apologize to all those who love this song. Maybe if I'd been born in this era I'd feel all nostalgic about it. As it is, it feels me with agitation, and a cringing sense of horror.)

So, there's my least favourite song. I hope you *enjoyed* that. :) See you tomorrow!!

Cheers! God bless!
